Thats an interesting shot Jodi, well done. there have been a few macro shots posted over the months, Pam had an interesting one and I visit Dales site once in a while just to have a look. I like the detail that you just cannot see with the naked eye. What lens would you recommend to get started? Nikon Please ;D

I used my 100 mm macro lens. Shutter speed was fast-1/1600, ISO 100 and widest aperture at f/2.8. I honestly have no idea about what would be the equivalent in Nikon. I love this lens-it's fixed at 100 mm and opens up to f/2.8 (great blur) so it does gorgeous portraits also when I'm able to get back far enough!

I got this one at the same time...1/400 shutter speed, f/4.5, ISO 100 and 100 mm macro lens. Attachments:
